"I'm happy to share that I've completed my RoeTest.
I've assembled mine into a rack case, as most of my gear is already rack-mounted, and this format made more sense for me. The kit and manual provided enough information to guide me through the build, and I was able to put everything together without major issues. One challenge I encountered was sourcing components. The interactive guide links to a German supplier that no longer ships to the UK, so I had to manually find alternatives—Mouser, in my case. This process took over a day, which was an unfortunate consequence of Brexit. The guide itself is detailed, but this kit is clearly designed for those with solid electronics experience. While the PCBs are well-labeled with component values, the actual placement and soldering are left to the builder’s expertise. Surface-mount soldering turned out to be easier than expected, though I did run into some cold solder joints. Fortunately, Helmut was incredibly helpful in troubleshooting these issues. Now that the build is complete and calibrated, everything is working perfectly. Next, I’m looking forward to testing tubes and building dedicated adapter boxes for different socket types. A huge thank you to Helmut for designing such a fantastic piece of equipment!" All the best
